Hey everyone. It's Jordan here, and I'm going to be showing you how to create these perfect autumnal tortoiseshell foil pumpkins. Everything I'm going to be using in this video is on the palette. You'll need the get tacky, a few detailed paints, and the tortoiseshell foil. So next we're going to be creating the base of our pumpkins. Here I'm going to be using pink cloud, which is an everyday sheer pink this one, I would say, is a buildable gel polish colour from HONA. The opacity is sheer, but like, you can build this to a solid colour. So here I'm just going to paint a few more coats of pink cloud. This is just going to create a really, really solid base for our pumpkins to sit on next I'm going to grab my striper brush. This is a godsend. If you don't have this in your collection, you really, really need to here. I'm going to basically wipe the tacky layer of my polish off before starting. This is just a really good way to not get foil attached to what you don't need it to get attached to. I'm going to basically create just a soft, soft base for nothing to attach itself to. So next we're going to grab our striper brush. This is where we're going to start carving out our pumpkin shapes. So in order to start our pumpkin shape off with our get tacky is we're going to start from the corner of the nail and bring that line all the way in. This is just going to create a perfect guideline for our foil to stick to. So I'm just going to speed up the next part, because it's just me Filling in the rest of the pumpkin shape. So now our pumpkin is all filled in and ready to be cured for 60 seconds. You're going to want to grab your tortoiseshell foil and use the dull side to stick down to the pumpkin shape that you've just kind of carved out. You want to just press this into the nail. I always just use my fingers and press quite firmly and then pull off really quickly. If you've got any kind of like, sparse areas, you can just use the foil and push down, like I'm doing here. So troubleshooting, if you get foil where you don't need it to be, just grab a lint free wipe and some acetone. And you just want to, don't soak your lint free wipe, just kind of get it damp enough in order for you to have a bit more control and just wipe away the areas that you don't need the foil to be placed. So next, I'm going to grab my flat gel brush. This is going to be perfect for going around the pumpkin shape that you've just created with your foil. So what you're going to do with your flat gel brush is go over the heart shape that you've basically created and just fill in the gaps of where the foil might not be attached to. It doesn't need to look 100% which I think some people try and make foil look completely filled. It's a imperfectly, perfect kind of look, and that's why it works so well. So what you're going to want to do is go over this kind of as many times as you want. I'm only going to go over once because I quite like a light tortie, and I've got quite a lot of the black part of the foiling, so I'm just going to leave it as it is. So using my detail brush next, this is where we're going to outline the pumpkin, and you'll start to see it finally come together. So what you want to do is cut your detail brush in the black paint. So just using the black detail paint, you're just going to want to go around your heart shape really slowly. Don't rush this. Anchoring your pinky finger on your index is a great way to kind of hold yourself steady. As before, I'm just going to speed up this process. This is just me going around the rest of the pumpkin to create the shape, and then we're going to create more of a detailed look. So this is where we're going to add in the extra lines, just to create a more in depth looking pumpkin. So what we're going to do is now kind of criss cross the lines. So we're going to start from one point and just follow that line all the way through down. We're going to do the exact same on the opposite side. And then what you're going to want to do is start from the middle point and create another line across, just to the end, like this. And then we're going to do the exact same on the opposite side. So then that will give the shape of our pumpkin. So then what we're going to do is create the. The Stem or stalk for the pumpkin. I'm not really sure what it's actually called, but we're just going to draw two lines going straight up and just join them together. You can round it off however you feel like this is just how I've rounded this one off today. In the next step, which I would say is optional, is we're going to just create, like a little swirl. This would be if there were any kind of, like leaves coming off the pumpkin. You don't actually have to do this, but I just feel it adds a little bit something extra with the swirl, I would say, is you can go back in, like I'm doing now, and adding a bit more depth to the colour. You can just leave it quite sheer. So it does look quite faint, which I do love, but I wouldn't say add any more paint like I'm doing on your brush, because it can be a little bit hard to control and create the same thickness going around. I now that the kind of main part of our pumpkin is actually done, we're going to add in the fun part, the glitter, the specs and everything else that basically brings this whole entire look together. We're so what you're going to do is just take your dotting tool and add a few randomly placed dots just to fill the space around the pump. So next, what you're going to want to do is grab a really old nail art brush. What you're going to do is just squash it against your fingers just to kind of allow the bristles to separate. This is just going to help you create that, like speckled kind of look across the entire nail. What you want to do is just pick up a little bit on your brush and then dab out, and then just dab onto the nail. I didn't go crazy with this, but I kind of created enough specs in order for me to feel that the nail art was kind of finished. Then using my dotting tool again, I just picked up more of mask off, which is a stunning detail glitter paint, and just used it to kind of add a bit more depth into the specs. And it, honestly, it just bought the entire now look together and so what we're going to do is use HONA'S Super shine top coat to finish this nail out look you could, in theory, go over with a glitter top coat, a matte top coat, or obviously a glossy top coat. It just depends on the personal preference and what you want the finish to look like. Yeah, I've chosen the super shine so it'll give me more of a glossy look. And I just prefer it because it really brings out the glitter. I and that is our finished tortie pumpkin. Look. I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
