FAQs

Do I need any pre-existing qualifications?

You will need to bee qualified in gel polish and builder gel manicures to take the course.

Do I need HONA products to complete the course?

The Conversion Course has been designed around the HONA Gel Polish and Builder Gel range. If you book onto an in-person course, the kit is included as standard. If you choose the online course, case studies need to be submitted using HONA products, and these need to be shown in the case studies. Failure to use HONA products will mean we won’t be able to accept your case studies and pass your qualification.

We recommend using a HONA cordless cube lamp, Aura Lamp or an approved lamp - all cure times are based on approved and tested lamps, we cannot guarantee a safe and thorough cure in a non-approved lamp.

Are there differences between the in-person and online courses?

While our online courses offer flexibility, we always recommend attending an in-person course where possible. You'll benefit from hands-on practice, personalised feedback from your educator, and the chance to refine your technique in real time, helping you feel confident and prepared for your case studies and future clients.

Do I have to complete a case study?

Yes, you will need to complete a case study and submit it to your educator or via the online platform.

Please note that case studies need to be submitted using HONA products and these need to be shown in the case studies. Failure to use HONA products will mean we won’t be able to accept your case studies and pass your qualification.

Please also make sure your application is in clear view throughout the video, if the video is unclear you may be asked to submit a new video.

You must submit application videos demonstrating the method taught in the course. Your case study should include a full hand of builder gel with or without colour. The video will need to showcase prep, all the way through to application and the final result.

You can use your HONA builder of choice.

You will also need to evidence a safe removal of one nail.

Your video will need to include a top-down view and a side profile view of the final set of nails, once completed.

Once this has been sent, an educator will review your video, give feedback and provide you with your accredited qualification. We normally review case studies within two weeks.
